Parish Health Ministry
The Parish Health Ministry seeks to provide wholistic health and healing in this congregation. The Parish Nurse will respond to the health-related concerns of parishioners by making visits to home, hospital and other health institutions to evaluate needs, provide support and assist in making plans for a continuum of care. She is available to advocate for parishioners who have difficulty negotiating the health care system or linking with appropriate community resources.
- Every second Sunday, blood pressures are conducted from 9:30 -to 10:45 in the Library
- Parish Health Ministry has a lending library of durable medical equipment (walkers, commodes, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, shower stools, etc) available to members of the congregation.
- Workshops are held several times a year to present the 5 Wishes - which is a living will. Participants leave the class with a document to give to their family and health care providers that expresses their wishes regarding end of life decisions.
- A yearly Flu Clinic is held each fall. We have also begun offering a Shingles Vaccine clinic and hope to do so quarterly.
Ellen has office hours Tuesday 9:30am to 3:30pm. Please call to make an appointment. If you need to speak to her immediately, please call the church office or Ellen at home.
